Two generations, one clear vision
Two generations of expertise in old Belgian bricks
STAYN is a family business with one clear focus: reclaiming, selecting and reusing old Belgian bricks in construction projects.
The knowledge has been passed down through generations. Grandfather Lesley spent years building a network of demolition companies and building material dealers. He learned how to recognise quality. Which bricks are usable. Which are not.
Today, Matteo continues that expertise with the same no-nonsense approach: do what you promise, and deliver what you agree on.
quality without compromise
Manual selection of reclaimed bricks
Old bricks are not a mass product. Not every old brick is suitable for a new project. You need to know where to find them and how to assess quality.
We buy directly from demolition projects and visually select for quality. Damaged bricks are removed. What remains is strong, usable and consistent. Looking for a specific type like Beerse brick, Paepsteen, Klampsteen or Kareelsteen? Want a mix with more red or more nuance? We select manually by type and colour.
We don't work with standard packages. We look at what you need.
reuse as a logical choice
Why brick reuse makes sense in circular construction
The construction industry is changing. European regulations increasingly push toward CO₂ reduction and circular material use. Producing a new brick requires raw materials, energy and a firing process with high CO₂ emissions. Reusing an old brick avoids that process entirely. For us, reuse is not a buzzword but a self-evident choice in an industry that needs to move forward. These bricks have served for decades. And they can do so again.
Working together the right way
Why choose STAYN
We don't do broad trade in building materials. We deliberately focus on old Belgian bricks and build our expertise around that. You'll notice that focus in how we work and how we collaborate. You won't get a generic story from us, but an honest answer.
With STAYN you choose:
-
dedicated specialisation in old bricks
-
selection based on quality, not volume
-
flexibility in type and appearance
-
direct contact with the people who know the material
-
clear agreements and proper delivery
We deliver what we promise. And we only promise what we can deliver.
